Starting School with us
Once we know you will be joining us, we will:
- Encourage parents and children to visit our setting on a number of occasions before their child is due to start attending alone.
- Invite children and their families to all major events. Parents will receive the six weekly newsletters once they have booked their place.
- Nominate each child a Key Person. This is a teacher who is special to your child. Parents will know who their key person is before the child starts.
- Come and visit the family at home if that helps so the child can meet us in a friendly and comforting environment.
Once you start we will:
- Make sure that every morning the child gets a warm welcome from our dedicated New Child Co-ordinator. This means parents can take a moment to chat to their key person if necessary.
- Welcome parents at our sessions until they feel confident their child has settled and no longer needs them to stay.
- Text parents each morning until they are happy that their child is settled and relaxed.
- Meet with parents within the first few weeks to chat about how their child has settled in.
